A Smooth Sensation
The dusk was coming down slowly that summer. Stuck up to the sky the golden medal refused to go. The day was plumed and humid, no birds sang, no cold breeze could be expected. The trees were straight up to the sky like pilgrims praying to God, with their arms opened up to heavens asking permission to be alive.
The calm before the storm, the silence before death. Suddenly, a dark noisy mass floating over me appeared. A chilling sensation invaded my naked body. I was blinded by fear and my heart beat so fast that it seemed as it was pushing to get out of my chest. The darkness invaded me. I got lost in time and space. The sound of somebody, somewhere, cutting the grass could be heard. A strong voice called my name and I was transported to another place.
The mirror in the lake reflected my entire nudity. I knelt on the grass and stretched out my hand trying to touch the face reflected in the water. A force swallowed me into the lake. The water was warm and the flood drawn me into the dark hole in the deepness. While falling into the deep darkness I felt the strange sensation of the water touching me. It was weird and nice at the same time. A bright tiny light appeared, sparkling in the beginning but as deep I fell the light grew bigger and stronger. Suddenly, without knowing why, I was floating in calm waters. The place was gorgeous, a big, enormous lagoon surrounded by mountains, a very deep forest and hundreds of birds flying everywhere. The sound… it reminded me of something, something intelligible. I swam to the coast, stood up on my feet and walked out of the lagoon to the beach. With the water dripping down my body and the sun heating my back I entered into the forest. The place was dark, cold and humid. The birds could not be heard, the branches knitted so closely that not a patch of light could filter through.
Unexpectedly, somebody took my arm. I was shocked by the force that threw me into the bushes. Somebody was at my side, close to me; I could feel his warm breathing on my neck. Suddenly, everything was moving around me, I passed out.
When I woke up this chilling, deafening noise screamed again. My dog was at my side, licking my arm while my sweat dripped down my body. The fresh wind showed me that the sun was going, finally the parrots were leaving. The moon appeared slightly, telling me that the day was ending again.
